Truly free childcare at St Mary’s Nursery

At St Mary’s Nursery, we offer 15 and 30 hours of truly free childcare for eligible families — with no hidden costs during core hours.

We also provide flexible wraparound care from 8:00am to 5:30pm, supporting working parents with a safe, nurturing and engaging environment for their children.

Our nursery has 30 places available to children born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022. We offer the following (Monday – Friday) term-time hours:

Session times and costs

Core funded hours (FREE)

• 9:00am – 12:00pm

• 12:00pm – 3:00pm (if eligible for 30 hours funding)

• The prices for the optional breakfast, lunch and afternoon hours can be found here.

• The extended 30-free hours provision may be used for clubs or the afternoon sessions during term time.

Nursery wrap-around care

Breakfast Club

• 8:00am arrival: £6

• 8:30am arrival: £3

Lunch

• £2.71 per day

Midday (for non-30 hour families)

• 12:00pm – 3:00pm: £6 per hour

After School Club

• Until 4:00pm: £9.25

• Until 5:00pm: £11.25

• Until 5:30pm: £12.25

Steps to apply

• You need to complete the nursery application form and return it to us via email: admin@st-marys-royston.herts.sch.uk
  • If you are a Catholic family, please also supply your child's baptism certificate alongside the Supplementary Information Form (available at the bottom of this page)
  • If you are a member of another faith, please complete the Supplementary Information Form and provide the supporting documents outlined in the form
